We set up a number of in-school author events in direct collaboration with individual schools. Recent highlights have included school events with Michael Rosen, Anne Fine, Jane Ray, Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell, John Boyne, Lauren St John, Liz Pichon, Polly Dunbar and Hannah Shaw, to name but a few. We have also been privileged to receive shop author visits from, among other notable names, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Michael Morpurgo, Mick Inkpen, Malorie Blackman, Anthony Browne, Robert Muchamore, Michael Foreman, John Burningham and Helen Oxenbury.

For young children we have had visits from Maisy and Kipper as well as our regular weekly storytime which takes place every Thursday at 11am.

In 2011, we also hosted successful events in the shop with authors including Anthony Horowitz, Malorie Blackman, Cressida Cowell, Michael Rosen, Darren Shan, Derek Landy and Francesca Simon.

Staff knowledge and expertise underpins all our work. Their dedication, enthusiasm and hard work are key and their love of children's books crucial.

Our approach - now as in previous years - is built on enthusiasm for books with a strong commitment to getting more books to more readers, and always the right book to the right child.

Whether we are taking high profile authors to large scale events, or making the time to read a story to a small child whose carer needs a chance to browse, we believe the most important element of our shop is our relationship to our customers.
