For young children we have had visits from Maisy and Kipper as well as our regular weekly storytime which takes place every Thursday at 11am and Saturday at 10am. In the last year we have hosted successful events in the shop with authors including Judith Kerr, Julia Donaldson, Shirley Hughes and Clara Vulliamy, Michael Rosen, Liz Pichon, John Burningham and Helen Oxenbury. Staff knowledge and expertise underpins all our work. Their dedication, enthusiasm and hard work are key and their love of children's books crucial. Our approach - now as in previous years - is built on enthusiasm for books with a strong commitment to getting more books to more readers, and always the right book to the right child. Whether we are taking high profile authors to large scale events, or making the time to read a story to a small child whose carer needs a chance to browse, we believe the most important element of our shop is our relationship with our customers.
