Welcome to the ASL Lower School Library Wishlist!

Below is the wishlist for the ASL Lower School Library, a curated list of books ASL would love to add to its collection.  The library’s wishlist is kept updated and titles are removed upon purchase.  Please let us know if you need any further information on the titles.

ASL Friends of the Libraries (FOTL) operates two library book contribution programs, described below:

  • Birthday Book Club

  • Book Sponsorship

Birthday Book Club

The Birthday Book Club is a wonderful opportunity to contribute to the ASL Libraries, promote reading, and add to your child’s birthday celebration.  Choose a book from the list below to donate to the Lower School library.  The book will be delivered to the library (for free if you select “Wishlists (Pre-arranged only)” at checkout), a book plate with your child’s name will be placed in the front of the book, and your child will be invited to the library to be the first person to check out the book.  If you have any questions about the Birthday Book Club, please contact ASL Friends of the Libraries at pca.fotl@asl.org.

Book Sponsorship

Sponsoring a book is a great way to support the ASL libraries and offers a way to make a lasting gift to acknowledge someone special – perhaps an excellent teacher, a student who achieved a special goal, a friend who is leaving, or someone outside of ASL.  Books sponsored through FOTL are added to the American Memorial Collection (AMC), receive a gold AMC stripe on the spine, and include a commemorative bookplate with your message on the first page.  If you have any questions about the Book Sponsorship Program or the American Memorial Collection, please contact ASL Friends of the Libraries at pca.fotl@asl.org.

Steps for Birthday Book Club and Book Sponsorship:

  1. Browse the list of books the library wishes to add to its collection.

  2. Choose one or more books to add to your cart.

  3. View your cart, but do not check out yet.

  4. Add a note with the following information:

  • For the Birthday Book Club - Add a note with your child’s first and last name, birthday, and current class year at ASL (e.g., Avery Adams, January 1, Grade 3).

  • For the Book Sponsorship Program – Add a note with the following information:

    • Donor name (if different). For example, you may want the donor to be your child rather than you.

    • Dedication (if desired). The dedication will be written on the bookplate and can be any message you like. Examples include thanking a teacher for their work, a message to a friend, a general thank you to ASL. If nothing is written, FOTL will write a general message on your behalf to the school.

    • Card sent to (if desired). Please indicate if you would like us to send a card to someone letting them know a book has been sponsored in their name. Please also email pca.fotl@asl.org their name (and mailing address if outside of ASL – we are happy to post cards anywhere in the world).

  1. In shipping, select “Wishlists (Pre-arranged only)” for free shipping to ASL.

  2. Checkout and pay for the book.Note that shipping details are collected at checkout but are not used for actual shipping as the book will be delivered directly to the ASL Libraries if you select the Wishlists shipping option.

Accept a big Thank You from the ASL Libraries.  Your contributions help the ASL Libraries to maintain an outstanding collection of books for all our readers.  And, if you have a made a Birthday Book Club contribution, look for the book (or books) to come home with your child in the next couple of weeks.
